Another "GPS" call. A Canadian truck driver following his GPS on Sunday May 3, found his way into a
bog in Acworth NH, behind Perry Mountain. He spent the night in his truck. At daybreak he proceeded
to back out approximately 3/4 of a mile to the intersection of Blacknorth Road and the RT5 snowmobile
trail intersection. This is all unmaintained class 6 roadway. See the sign in picture #2. This is where he
became stuck and called for help. We accessed the job from the Quaker City area of Unity NH. We
utilized our Case CH445 track loader with our shop built JJ10 winch boom attachment. We also utilized
Jason's 4x4 ATV. Once on scene, we winched the trailer away from the trees and back into the roadway
allowing us enough room to get the Case/JJ10 in front on the tractor trailer unit to winch the tractor back
into the roadway. We then escorted the driver back out to the Burrough Road and eventually to his
destination in Acworth NH. It was the best test to date of our off road recovery unit.

Large fire truck and a small muddy driveway. Thankfully as soon as the truck became
stuck they just stopped! Usually people keep on spinning.

Three for one special.  Jeep hit the van in the rear, van then collided
with passing tractor trailer unit. Could have been worse.

Needed a little extra reach for this one.  Good thing truck 12 has the
three stage underreach "Zack Lift 303". This truck was broken down in
St. Johnsbury VT. 75 miles from home.

Easier said than done. We did it. Fully loaded 379 Pete with live floor trailer
full of trash - very cold and snowing. We did a lot of shoveling and rigging.
We had four heavy wreckers on this one and it still was a slow process. We
didn't have to touch the load and no further damage was done. Excellent team
work prevailed. Thank you to NH DOT, NH State Police, and Charlestown Police
and Fire Departments.

This time of year the roads look wider than they are due to the snow
banks being winged back.  No damage done. Sunday recovery in Gassets, VT

Early morning, set of doubles trying to turn around in Chester VT, RT 103.
It did not work very well.  We winched the trailers around so he would be
headed back to the terminal he had passed.  Thanks to the Vermont State
Police and Chester Police departments for the help with traffic.

Long day but the weather was nice, fully loaded tractor trailer unit overturned  spilling glass bottles
everywhere, I-89 mile marker 41 North. Major damage, but a nice job. After unloading it and
towed it to our facility in Claremont, this truck took out 325ft of guardrail and then slid on its side
another 150ft. We returned for a clean up operation two days later and removed all the debris and
bottles from over the bank. We filled drums and lifted them out of the trees with the crane and then
cleaned the closer areas with the excavator. Everyone came together on this one and got the job done.
Big thanks to our crew, Osgood’s, Gallup’s, NH DOT, NH State Police!

A road in Chester Vermont. However it is closed in the winter but that
didn’t deter the oil man. Very long day, very deep snow! Eeyore #7
winching W-17 up to the road.

A snowy Sunday on Lynn Hill, Acworth NH.
A big thank you to the maple tree for being right
where we needed it for a two-part winch line

Steep & very icy hill, Newport NH

Snowy Sunday in Acworth NH, our very versatile
unit #W-17, after finishing a propane truck winch out.
We hooked up this unit and towed it to L&B Truck Service, Inc.
